Stratifying seeds from Prairie Moon Nursery

Most native perennials need to be cold stratified for 60 days. A few for only 10 days and others can be direct sowed.

One method of cold stratification is using a damp coffee filter. Get the filters wet and squeeze out as much water as possible. Add seeds and fold. Place in a ziplock bag.  Place the sealed bag in the refrigerator (not freezer) and monitor weekly, or as needed, until it is time to remove for sowing.
